College Guidance
College counseling is vital in guiding students through crucial academic decisions, whether it’s selecting high school subjects or exploring career interests. At our School, our counseling program actively involves both students and parents. We don’t just assess students’ interests and abilities; we also focus on developing essential skills. Our goal is to equip students with the 21st-century skills they need. We provide information on various undergraduate courses worldwide, both locally and internationally, as well as scholarships and extracurricular opportunities. In today’s rapidly changing world, it is important that students have access to information on the changing face of the careers and hence the courses of study offered in various colleges, in India, and across the world. This, coupled, with a self-discovery process that helps one identify their own innate strengths, is the purpose of the College Guidance Programme.

Bingo was an engaging parent career session on Product Design and Development, hosted by our college counseling team, with Mr. Rubesh Dhananjayan and Mr. Badrinarayanan from the automobile industry. Mr. Rubesh emphasized creative practices in vehicle manufacturing, while Mr. Badrinarayanan highlighted automotive engineering as a lucrative career path. The session explored product creation, innovation, and problem-solving, held at Aksharvani, Akshar Arbol International School, ECR. Parents visually showcased their skills and experiences, inspiring students to reconsider their career choices.
Established in 1984 by the late De La Salle Brother Joseph McNally, LASALLE is a non-profit private institution offering Goldsmiths, University of London validated degree programs. As a founding member of the University of the Arts Singapore, LASALLE provides a diverse range of diploma, graduate, and undergraduate programs. During this session, LASALLE introduced its courses, admission requirements, and scholarships, emphasizing its commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation in arts education.
The Vellore Institute of Technology recently collaborated with Akshar Arbol International School to host a top-tier career counseling program, highlighting the increasing importance of such guidance in preparing students for the challenges of the twenty-first century. VIT extended support to school counselors by offering strategies and resources to navigate the complex application process effectively. Through face-to-face interactions, Dr. Suganthan V introduced various courses in biological sciences, shedding light on VIT’s research programs in microbiology, biotechnology, medical genetics, and more. On November 10th, 2023, Akshar Arbol International School hosted an engaging career session focused on the world of writing. Led by a panel of seasoned writers including Mr. Arun Janardhanan, Ms. Sowmiya, and Ms. Lavanya, students gained valuable insights into various writing career paths. Mr. Janardhanan shared his experiences as a Senior Assistant Writer at the Indian Express, highlighting the fast-paced nature of journalism. Ms. Sowmiya, an Independent Journalist, discussed the freedom of freelance writing, while Ms. Lavanya, a Content Specialist, explored content creation strategies. The session inspired attendees to explore their creativity and pursue writing careers with confidence.
