Service Learning
Incorporating service learning into our curriculum represents an innovative and much-needed approach that merges classroom learning with impactful community service. This approach serves as a potent tool, enhancing not only students’ academic comprehension but also nurturing their civic involvement and personal development. By engaging in service learning, students have the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios, effectively addressing community needs while gaining deeper insights into societal issues.
Ultimately, service learning allows students to grow not just with academic proficiency, but also become socially aware with active commitment to effecting change within their communities and the world at large.
The outcomes of the Service Learning Programmes, at AAIS has been guided by the IB’s well-defined outcomes in the CAS programme – Increased personal awareness, Undertaking new challenges, Planned & initiated activities, Collaborative working, Perseverance & commitment, Engaged in Global issues, Considered ethical implication of one’s actions. These outcomes are woven through the subject disciplines to provide a holistic and worthwhile learning experience

Uniting Through Celebration
The Aadi Street festival was a chance for the students of Middle School and High School to come together and celebrate for a cause. Students of Grades 6 to 12 set up stalls, staged dance and drama performances and made and sold crafts and food products all to raise money for a charitable cause of their choosing. An event filled with incredible fun and laughter, it served both as a platform for students to showcase their creative talents and also come together and work for a greater good.

This concerted effort garnered praise and recognition from the local municipality, reflecting the profound impact of community service and environmental stewardship.
Unity in Action
“Fistful of Rice” began as a compassionate initiative to aid our own custodial staff during the challenging aftermath of the recent December floods. In response to a student-lead initiative recognising the struggles faced by our staff, our entire community of students & parents came together to offer support. Through donations of groceries and essentials, they sought to provide much-needed assistance for a few months, ensuring the custodial staff could weather the difficult times ahead. This act of solidarity and generosity exemplifies the power of community coming together in times of need, offering a helping hand to those who keep our spaces clean and safe.
Sangamam
Sangamam, our School’s annual fundraiser, originated as a legacy project by a graduate student, embodying our community’s dedication to service. This event showcases students’ talents through diverse creations sold to raise funds for noble causes. It promotes entrepreneurship, teamwork, and empathy, fostering a culture of social responsibility. The proceeds empower communities in need, reflecting our enduring commitment to making a meaningful difference. Sangamam cultivates lasting social awareness and compassion among our students, extending beyond our school walls.
Exploring Eco-Innovation
Students recently had the enriching opportunity to visit Lalaji Omega International School to explore a paper plant, witnessing firsthand the sustainable process of paper production. From waste pulp to banana stems and discarded clothes, they observed how innovative methods are utilized to promote recycling and reduce waste. This excursion aligns with our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering awareness and education on sustainable practices among our youth.
