The Launch of Las Brisas - Our Cafeteria

The launch of the new cafeteria, Las Brisas, at Akshar Arbol, Injambakkam was met with great enthusiasm and approval from both parents and students alike. To mark this momentous occasion, a cookout challenge was organised between Grade 8 and DP 1 students. They showcased their culinary skills by preparing delectable dishes for the custodial staff and teachers, fostering a sense of community and appreciation. The event commenced with an auspicious puja ceremony, invoking blessings for the success of the cafeteria. Following the festivities, the catering services were officially inaugurated, with Arusuvai Arasu at the helm, promising a delightful culinary experience for all.

Celebrating Language Week

In celebration of Languages, PYP students initiated Language Week to appreciate diverse languages and cultures, promoting inclusivity and multiculturalism. Throughout the week, students engaged in ‘DEAR’ time (Drop Everything And Read). Parents joined in during the reading activities! As part of Character Day, children dressed as fictional characters, presenting poems, skits, and enacting scenes from books, fostering transdisciplinary learning. Students of Middle School performed plays and stalls were set up, aligning with the theme “Jurassic World.” Tamil Language Week focuses on bolstering linguistic abilities, emphasizing the rich literary heritage of Tamil and the importance of embracing one’s mother tongue.

The Joy of Global Play Day

The Global Play Day is an annual event celebrated by our school across campuses. It aims to highlight the importance of play in children’s learning and development. During this day, students engage in various unstructured and structured play activities, fostering creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. Global Play Day encourages educators, parents, and communities to recognise play as a fundamental aspect of childhood and education. It emphasises the significance of providing opportunities for children to explore, experiment, and learn through play in nurturing holistic development. By participating in Global Play Day, schools reaffirm their commitment to holistic education and the well-being of their students.

Tradition & Innovation

In a dynamic display of national fervor, the celebration of Republic Day unfolded across two campuses, each hosting a spectrum of activities that blended tradition with innovative flair. Amidst the educational initiatives, the atmosphere was charged with excitement as students took to the stage to showcase their talents. Cultural dances, musical performances, and skits entertained the audience, highlighting the rich diversity and talent within the school community. The event served not only as a celebration of national pride but also as a platform for learning and collaboration, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

A Festive Extravaganza

Across both campuses, the Christmas celebration was a joyous affair filled with festive cheer and merriment. Students, donned in Santa hats and glittering decorations, gathered in the auditoriums to partake in the holiday festivities. From spirited dance performances to heartwarming carol renditions, the stage was alive with the sounds of the season. Artistic displays adorned the halls, showcasing the creativity and talent of the students. Amidst laughter and excitement, traditional treats like cookies and hot cocoa were shared, fostering a sense of warmth and togetherness. The event concluded with a special visit from Santa Claus, spreading smiles and spreading holiday magic to all.

Spooky Fun

Our school turned into a Halloween wonderland, brimming with student-made crafts and spooky delights. Engaging activities like ring-tossing onto witch hats, ghost-shooting, and haunted Tic Tac Toe added eerie excitement. A fashion show showcased hauntingly creative costumes, while stalls offered marshmallow stacking and spider pinning. The decorations, including bats, witches, and pumpkins crafted from household items, captivated us all. Rudra from Grade 1 cherished the setup and the mystery of friends’ costumes. Vedanth was thrilled by the DIY decorations reflecting the spirit of Halloween. Meanwhile, Pranav’s favorite, the Monster box, offered a tactile adventure with various objects—a truly unforgettable Halloween experience!

Unlocking the Mysteries of Math

The ‘Math Looking Glass Project,’ hosted on July 21, 2023, proved to be a pivotal event for Grade 10 students, offering a transformative experience. Initially perceiving math as an abstract puzzle with limited real-world application, students engaged in thorough research, unveiling the pervasive presence of mathematics across diverse spheres such as music, crafts, sports, and literature.

The research journey notably shifted their perspective, culminating in a compelling presentation to parents that effectively highlighted the practical significance of math in daily life. Students embraced valuable lessons in teamwork, honed research skills, and gained a deeper appreciation for the tangible value of education, leaving a lasting impression.
