The prestigious Harvard Model United Nations Conference held their 10th edition of the India chapter in the month of August 2020 from 13th to the 16th virtually. Harvard Model United Nations India is a four-day international relations simulation for high school students where the delegates gain insight into the nuances of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets.
In this conference, we had 9 students participating from Grades 9-12 wherein they represented South Korea and engaged open dialogue on complex global issues with students nationally and globally. The students were extensively trained by an educational enterprise called Intermind Global on researching, position paper drafting, resolution creation, presentation and so on.
After four intense days of debating and diplomacy, our students gained immense experience and confidence to take on more such conferences in the future. *It is also worth mentioning that Tanishk Desai of Grade 9 won the Diplomatic Commendation Award* . We sincerely hope that this participation would be the beginning of a spectacular MUN culture at Akshar Arbol International School.
