Priya, Head of School at AAIS is a multi-faceted person with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, a MBA from USA, B.Ed from IGNOU and a Certificate in School Leadership and Management from the Harvard School of Education and Harvard Business School. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Hindi and has completed the basic Spanish course.
She possesses a varied skill-set and has worked in diverse roles in the Finance and Marketing functions at leading corporates in the past, prior to her starting her career in education. Priya has taught in the IB Primary Years Programme and has lead the IB Diploma Programme, as the DP Coordinator, besides teaching Business Management and Theory of Knowledge for students in the Diploma Programme.
Recently, she was invited to be a panel member at the IB Global Conference 2022 at Singapore and also presented a paper titled ‘Stay Rooted- A whole School approach to wellbeing” at the conference. #IBGC2022
Priya is also an accomplished senior Bharatanatyam artiste, and has received prestigious awards and citations for proficiency in the art-form from several art organizations. As Jt Secretary of ABhaI (Association of Bharatanatyam Artists of India) and an active member of Rotary International, she contributes her time and effort towards the well-being of the communities supported by these organizations.
Priya derives inspiration from daily life and people around her and believes in the philosophy of being curious and a life-long learner. At AAIS, she leads the School Leadership Team.
Prabha holds a Masters in Business Systems from Monash University, Australia, a B.Ed. from IGNOU, New Delhi, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Leadership from Centre for Education Management and Development – Spirit of Leadership. She also holds a Diploma in Spanish from the Government of Mexico and has taught English and Spanish to several professionals and expatriates in Mexico and India.
Prabha’s areas of specialisation and expertise include Process and Systems Design. As a member of the School Leadership Team at AAIS, she brings forth this expertise to lead systemic modifications As a member of the IB Educators Network (IBEN), Prabha is an IB PYP Programme Leader, visiting and providing feedback to PYP Schools as part of their IB Evaluation Process.
Working with teachers and students, Ancora imparo.” – “I’m still learning, always learning.” is a tiny, yet powerful reminder, from Michaelangelo, that she strives to live by.
Prior to becoming an educator, Prabha spent close to a decade in Technology Consulting, at which time, she taught Languages and the Performing Arts, in other settings.
When not working, Prabha may mostly be found curled somewhere, with a book. She also enjoys dabbling with technology and explores ways to integrate technology with education. Prabha is also an accomplished Indian Classical dancer, having performed both in India and overseas. She enjoys traveling because she believes that it is a gateway to meet new people and explore new places and ways of living.

An adage she firmly believes in, Latha holds a Masters degree in English, a Diploma in Kindergarten and Montessori Teacher Training, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational leadership from the Centre for Education Management and Development – Spirit of Leadership.
With a good track record of experience in many associated areas of education, such as Choir Organization and running Scrabble Clubs, she is best described as a highly motivated learner, who is driven by John Dewey’s belief that “Education is life”. She brings forth her experience from several philosophies of Early Childhood Education to create a unique and memorable programme at AAIS.
As a member of the School Leadership Team, Latha leads the School’s Academic Improvement Programmes and Professional Learning, designing, curating and fostering learning experiences for all members of the staff at AAIS.
Latha enjoys designing and creating resources that aid student learning. Inspired by Reggio Emilia’s environment, she is seen sharing creative and thought-provoking learning activities with her team. An athlete and School Pupil Leader in her school days, Latha loves to participate in physical activities, listen to music, and travel to explore different places.
Akila Srinivas, Principal – Secondary School, has a Masters and a M. Phil in Environmental Sciences, enabling her to teach a variety of subjects such as Biology, Environmental Management, and Global Perspectives at the Middle school and High school levels.
Over the years, she has strengthened her experience in the field of education, having taught various curriculums including CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge Secondary, AS/A levels, and IBDP. With this rich experience, as a member of the AAIS School Leadership Team, she leads Curriculum Planning and Design across the School.
A P.G Diploma in ‘Education Leadership’ from the Centre for Education Management Development-Spirit of Leadership has helped her hone her administrative capabilities, while she uses her expertise gained from the Cambridge Diploma for Teachers and Trainers [CIDTT] to focus on building a wide variety of pedagogies to suit the varying needs of her learners. Having worked on the International Schools Award twice, she finds collaboration as the key to effective learning in a school environment.
Adding magnitude to her experience, she trains teachers across various curriculums as a guest faculty at Chetana Education.
Akila has a deep-rooted interest in art and cooking. She believes in creativity being an intrinsic part and way of life for her.
