Secondary School :
Grades 6 to 10

Akshar Arbol International School has a strong Secondary Curriculum that has been developed on the basis of the requirements of the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations.

The Cambridge Programmes are an ideal Middle and High School Programme at Akshar Arbol International School, with their focus and emphasis on internationally recognized standards.  Our students follow the Cambridge Secondary 1 Programme in Grades 6 to 8 and the Cambridge Secondary 2 [IGCSE] in Grades 9 and 10.

What to expect from our Cambridge Programme

Individual Progress and Growth

Students entering the Cambridge Secondary 1 and IGCSE at Akshar Arbol International School find encouragement to discover their own potential, while developing deep subject knowledge and honing their skills of critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity.
Students find that they are engaged in several hands-on and real-world projects that support, extend and reinforce their learning beyond their classrooms.

University Guidance

There is a wide range of subject choices available for our learners in the IGCSE (Grades 9 and 10), and through our robust College Counselling Programme (hyperlink), we help our students choose their subjects of study in the IGCSE by identifying their strengths and interests and recognizing opportunities for their Higher Education.

Qualified, Trained and Experienced Teachers

Our teachers come with a range of experiences from both teaching and other industry backgrounds, with a common love for teaching.

Cambridge Assessment International Examinations Lower Secondary 1 (Grades 6 – 8)

Our learners in the Cambridge Lower Secondary have 4 core subjects and 7 additional subjects.

IGCSE Programme (Grades 9 – 10)

Our learners in the Cambridge IGCSE take 6 to 9 subjects in their Grade 9 and will be awarded the IGCSE subject grades from Cambridge at the end of Grade 10.

Why choose the Cambridge Secondary 1 and IGCSE at AAIS

Nurturing environment

Our learning environment is open, allowing students to feel safe to voice out their opinions, without fear of judgement. This allows for students to consider and choose opportunities that would allow for their own growth and development.

Small Student:Teacher Ratio

With our small class sizes, our teachers are able to give personalised attention to each child and work towards building a strong relationship with each of our students and their families.

Pedagogical Excellence

Our teachers employ a variety of instructional methods, emphasising on practical skills and hands-on learning. Your child gets several opportunities to develop his/her  creative thinking, inquiry and problem solving skills.

Preparation for Next stages

At AAIS, we make certain subjects mandatory to equip students with the necessary skills and mindset to handle future learning . Your child has the opportunity to collaborate with other students across the globe and enhance his/her research skills through subjects such as Global perspectives

Support and Guidance :

As part of the AAIS College Guidance Programme, at Grade 8, you and your child receive a detailed orientation to choose from a variety of subject options for IGCSE . This enables students choose subjects in alignment with their career interests

Developing confident & responsible citizens

Building the Cambridge Learner attitudes through Service learning projects, engagement in the Student Council Body, participation in Inter-House and Inter-School competitions provides our learners several opportunities to explore their interest and develop holistically.
